IT'S Christmas, it’s Dickens.

Staying true to the basic storyline leaves room to take plenty of spirited liberties in this adaptation of the Dickens ghost story by writer and producer Danny Wainwright.

The laughs ricochet throughout this lively fast-paced production with an abundance of contemporary references to delight both children and adults.

The original story and characters are kept intact: miserly Scrooge, the relentless optimism of Bob Cratchit, the sticky pathos of Tiny Tim, combined with singing, dancing, sight gags, silliness and really bad jokes delivered by a company whose wholehearted enthusiasm is a joy to watch.

The inventive low-tech set designed by Ele Slade makes full use of the theatre’s revolving stage, allowing quick scene changes that add to the accelerating sense of fun.

The outstanding star of the show is an immaculate performance from Tiny Tim; his theatrical skills, talents and stage presence are in inverse proportion to his size. A celebrity glove puppet to watch out for!

The perfect Christmas feast.
